The bathroom is finally complete! This was my first major project in our new home, and I am so happy with it! Below are the before and after pictures of our powder bath remodel. Dark and dated to bright and modern, I did this transformation for under $1,000! You can find all of the items I used and where to purchase them, at the links below.
This bathroom looked as if it hadn’t been touched since the 70’s or 80’s! The cabinet counter height was super low (not the height that they make them now). The countertop was a yellow-cream color and super old, dingy, and dated. It also looked like the previous owner painted the cabinet the gray color you see in the picture. The mirror was just a big sheet of glass stuck on the wall that had no style or shape. Everything (including the hardware, light, and mirror) was old, outdated and had to go!
I always do renderings of my projects before I commit to purchasing anything. Which is great because I typically find myself tweaking a few things during this process. I love seeing what I originally put together in my head, in the 3D model.
I am so happy with how this turned out! Originally, I was going to go with a more expensive custom cabinet. But, when I found this one at Home Depot, I knew for the price that it was worth saving a little cash. (It’s just a powder bath after all!) It came with brushed nickel knobs and a square mirror that matched the vanity. When I decided I wanted the light fixture in the oil rubbed bronze, I went with black for everything else and swapped out the knobs that the vanity came with. I love how the black accents work with the gray vanity and wallpaper.
Like this look? Another way to create this design is by doing a gold mirror with gold fixtures!
